Project Spotlight: Gaustec G-150 Ultra Fine Chrome Implementation

Blu Sky Mining recently commissioned three GAUSTEC G-150 WHIMS units in the Eastern and Western Limb of existing South African chromite plants, specialized in recovering fine and ultrafine chromite.

Operating at a 75 µm topsize, these units have delivered exceptional recoveries.

The Gaustec WHIMS units can also be applied to paramagnetic material with a topsize of up to 3 mm.

Unlocking Value in Low-Grade Copper Oxide Ores

Traditionally Copper oxide ores are beneficiated using heap and/or tank leaching. Some copper oxide ores are not economically viable to recover, due to a combination of low Cu head grade and high gangue acid consumption (GAC) demand.

By leveraging innovative cross-pollination between technologies and commodities, Blu Sky has significantly reduced gangue acid consumption and leaching duration. This simple, robust, eco- friendly solution is scalable for high-throughput operations (600tph per unit) while maintaining a compact physical footprint.

Notably, the process also facilitates the recovery of significant quantities of copper sulphide minerals.
